Franky VDP cartridgetransparantNEtransparantEN

On one of our MSX club meetings I layed hands on a special (prototype) cartridge; the Franky VDP cartridge made by Supersoniqs. Franky is a VDP on a MSX cartridge, with the characteristics of a VDP used in the Mark III and Sega Master System I+II video game consoles. With help of this cartridge, it is possible to play Sega Master System (.SMS) games using your MSX computer.

There is a comment on my introduction above; the sofware has to be adapted before it can be used. The conversion programm I received with this Franky cartridge worked far from optimal. As ordinary MSX user I only managed to get some games working. The automatic conversion of games is very difficult. Conversion software that works properly is still in development.

Disk offlineSupersoniqs is still looking for developpers who want to help to improve this software. If you are interested to help with this project please mail: Supersoniqs. BiFi has launced a webpage with tools that allows developpers to develop software using the Sega Master System posting vogue 4.

Although I would not recommend Franky to ordinary MSX users like me, I do encourage projects like this. It is good to know people are still busy with new developments for MSX. Therefore lots of respect. Keep up the good work!
