Mega Flash ROM If you ask me what I would recommend to every MSX user, then I immediately would say a Mega Flash ROM cartridge. This cartridge (developped by Manuel Pazos) has flash memory and therefore it is easy to swop MSX .ROM files into this memory, the so called 'flashing'.
The Mega flash ROM I use on my MSX has 1024 K flash memory and a Konami SCC+ soundchip. If there is a Konami game flashed in the cartridge which supports SCC+ sound, then this is recognized and you will hear SCC+ sound. The cartridge is suitable for every MSX model and is user-friendly. A lot of knowledge of MSX isn't necessary to use this cartridge. It works as follow; - Make sure you got a MSX formatted floppy disk* with: MSX DOS (required to run OPF or OPFX), OPF.COM or OPFX.COM and the .ROM game file (for example GAMENAME.ROM) you want to flash into the Mega flash ROM memeory (see also: MSX .ROM files). * It's possible and recommended to work from another file storage medium (like Sunrise CF ATA-IDE, Erik van Son's SD interface, Nowind USB interface, DeYoNet network interface or other harddisk system) because it is faster and easier than when using floppy disk. More info about the Mega Flash ROM cartridge you can find on Viento Sur this is the website of Manuel Pazos.
